DoD - Official Sites, News, Information
The team that started it all. This is where you'll find the DoD Mod-development team in their home atmosphere. Their forums likely contain the most extensive discussions of everything DoD and WW2. Of course, this is where you want to go to first for DoD news, guides, links and other information.
The Online War Pact--or [OwP] as it is affectionately referred to--is one of the most important organizations of DoD players in the world. Their views and aspirations as team players is legendary, despite a few sour apples. The [OwP] tag is one to be universally respected, or feared, depending how you prefer to play.
Considering the great work they have done for the DoD community in general, it is an honour to have our servers registered with and recognized by the [OwP].
The Day of Defeat Head Quarters, one of the more important sources of information about all that is DoD, including exclussive news, customizations and links. Their site is extensive and their comunity vast. Perhaps the second place you would go to for DoD information.
An extensive French site, dedicated to some of the most popular online games out there, including an extensive section dedicated to the game we love most: DoD.
Idéal pour nos compatriotes Français.
Here is an excellent utility for finding friends and strangers who may happen to currently be playing DoD, or some of your other favourite on-line games. To find any members of a certain clan, enter their specific tag [i.e.: =DirtyDozen=, [BRAS], [CiA], et cetera] in the search field, specify which game you expect them to be playing, and away you go. This also works for individual players. If you'd like to find where we're playing right now, click here.
Home of the excrutiatingly massive European DoD community. Exclussive interviews with the game's developpers, screenshots, et cetera. If you want to know what the French and German players are up to, head here.
A growing community, branched off by one of the [OwP]'s creators, [Elrond], who has a prominent position in the DoD community at large. Expect good things from this site.
This isn't really very much focussed on DoD, but the Picture of the Day section has lots of entertainment value in itself. It's something about "scripts," but I'm not entirely sure what they're about.
At the fore-front of server-side cheat-detection, United Admins have been maintaining CSGuard [created by Olo], which is now HLGuard. This the official cheat-detection software for the =DirtyDozen= servers. No client-side download required.
This is an up-coming mod for Half-Life, based on the Vietnam war like DoD is based on WW2. We're looking forward to this one with great anticipation.
An other coolness in the making, based on the other side of the war the Germans were forced to fight concurrent with the Allied advance to the West: the Russian Front, to the East.
A friendly directory of information aimed at DoD's server administrators, with news and tutorials on such uber-important things as AdminMod and HLGuard. A must-browse for all DoD server admins.
Our Friends and Familly
Home of =DirtyDozen= compatriots and friends, Clan [BRAS]. Our history with them is long and our friendship undeniable. [BRAS] have an excellent source of knowledge and information about WW2 and DoD alike.
Home of the =A82A=, who have been friendly with the =DirtyDozen= for some time, now. Check them out.
Certainly one of the largest and most important DoD clans in existance. They have their hands in a lot of things, including mapping and more. Give them a salute some time.
The [sAs], an other of the more important clans out there. High regards, men. Salute.
The Bombshells, tough as manicured nails and twice as deadly. Find out for yourself! Their servers are Friendly-Fire-friendly, so *cough* come prepared!
The Brothers of Honour are our erstwhile brother clan. All of its members get extra special consideration whenever theres consideration to be made or had. They're some good guys, so give them a salute. Let 'em know we sent you.
Customizing Day of Defeat
The king of all mod communities [ed. okay, yes, I'm terribly biased]. Find general information on starting mods for any game, modifying existing mods, et cetera. En bref, a community for anyone interested in non-commercial gaming arts.
The Kettle has long been a favourite for those of us who like to spruce up our game with the newest "kustom" maps, models, sprites, sounds and skins. Check their forums for further information. They are well-administrated with members almost always present to answer questions and concerns. You'll find most prominent clans and DoD organizations have a presence here. Also watch for their elite band of soldiers on a server near you.
This is one of the larger skin/model-replacement sites out there. Some of it's mostly in German, but the interface is very easy to navigate, so you shouldn't have any problems. Some of the very best models are available here, with preview images to boot.
An other center through which large portions of the DoD custopmizing community circulates through regularly. You'll find links to many other important sites as well.
This isn't so much dedicated solely to our beloved DoD. It's more of an all-around modding community, a bit like E&C, where resources are available to modders of all games.
